I don't typically pick up Criterion releases, but I made an exception recently with the new Criterion release of Romero's classic zombie movie that started it all, Night of the Living Dead. Got it for about $18 altogether off of Amazon and I don't regret a single penny of my purchase.

First of all, the 4k remaster is absolutely beautiful and is the best it's looked on video. Way better than the numerous dollar DVD versions that are out there for sure. It also features the original workprint cut titled Night of Anibus, which doesn't differ from the final cut much at all, it's just 10 minutes shorter because it's missing a reel in the middle. Also, the quality is rougher around the edges. It's worth watching if you're curious to see how the movie was in its original form.

In regards to the special features, they're pretty good too. There are a lot of interviews with the cast and crew as well as a featurette that features the likes of Frank Darabont, Guillermo del Toro, and Robert Rodriguez. There's also the typical special features filler material like TV spots and a trailer, but I'm not complaining!

Overall, it's worth the purchase if you love the movie and are still into collecting physical media. My only complaint is with the Blu-ray packaging and how you have to remove the disc on top in order to get to the one below it. It's always been a pet peeve of mine when movies are packaged that way.

Sounds and looks great man. The last picture of the little girl as zombie I used her as an avatar for a while on another site. Is that picture from a booklet?
