Anyone ever been to one of these awesome theatres? I've only been about 3 times myself, but I think they're a really cool chain that caters more to film buffs and genre enthusiasts than average moviegoers. I saw Big Trouble in Little China at my local Alamo here in Denver last night and loved every moment of it. It was my first time seeing a John Carpenter movie on the big screen, and I hope to see more of his stuff in such a fashion here in the future.

Also, on a side note, there's a really awesome Left 4 Dead survival map that's modeled after one of the Alamo theatres. You can find it here: https://www.gamemaps.com/details/2247

I go to TX Frightmare, and there's one pretty close to that convention, but I've never been there. They're always working together for it, and they seem to show a lot of cool shit. I'd like to go to one sometimes.

I remember you and me played a survival map that was set in a theater. Don't remember much about it though.

My current theater does "fathom" events for older movies, but the crowds are never very big for those. Did get to see TCM, Halloween, The Shining, and Smokey and the Bandit there though. *Burt Reynolds laugh*

Plenty of times. There are three that are a relatively short travel time from me here in Austin. I've been able to see a lot of movies there that never would have shown at any other chain theater. I got to meet Lloyd Kaufman there when they showed Poultrygeist about 10 years ago. And I was once able to see Friday the 13th part III in 3D.
