Welcome to the 2023 Crime Challenge.
You can watch any movie or TV show involving crime. If in doubt, please use IMDb or any other major movie database to check if a movie is tagged with "crime". However, certain superhero or slasher movies will be allowed but crime must be an integral part of the plot i.e. if it's a slasher then the police investigation must be a major feature of the movie (e.g. giallo), if it's a superhero flick/TV show then the superhero must be battling criminal organisations (i.e. Batman, Daredevil). Documentaries on the subject are also allowed.
You will get one point per minute watched.
This challenge runs from 00:00 on June 1st to 23:59 on June 30th.

1. 6/10 John Wick (2014) 101m - More action than crime, tangently concerns a crime family I suppose. I wouldnt be surprised at the end of the series you find out hes not human
2. 5/10 John Wick: 2 (2017) 122m - Now its starting to be fantasy, obviously does not take place on our earth reality
3. 7/10 John Wick: 3 (2019) 130m - Im expecting this to loop around to the matrix
4. 5/10 The of the Strangler (1972) 90m - Im like that guy looks like that dude from the monkees, I see afterward it was that dude from the monkees. More giallo than crime and theres no strangling, reasonable entertainment though.
5. 4/10 (2023) 117m - A load of twaddle, Rule #1 in making a film, get a decent story. Not really a crime film, though a decent amount of crime happens
6. 3/10 of the Witches (1970) 75m - Pretty lame film, Lots of high reviews for some strange reason for an unrated film, normally this is due to ppl working on the film but this film is from 5 decades ago
7. 7/10 John Wick: 4 (2022) 169m - He got his man, that only came into play at the start of the film, lame filmmaking, part 5, OK lets invent a new super baddy who we never hinted at in the previous 4 parts. Had to look up online what nationality Steve Buscemi was meant to be, the guy couldnt do an accent.
8. 5/10 The Psycho Lover (1970) 80m - Hmmm the guys trying to rape and strangle a woman and this upbeat 60s groovy hip music soundtrack is playing
9. 5/10 Witness for (1957) 116m - Fuck Wilder's films are always so overrated, ok sunset blvd was good but the rest, fuck man, not even good writing, dated for even when they came out.
10. 4/10 Funhouse (2019) 106m - Elon musk gets influencers to off themselves for clicks. Now sure why crime was the first genre listed for this film, it was chiefly horror
11. 7/10 La haine (1995) 98m - Decent but not sure how this is in the top 250, they couldnt afford color film for christsakes
12. 6/10 The Lonely Violent (1971) 93m - An italian rape revenge flick, but the revenge was not so clear cut
13. 2/10 Sweet (1971) 92m - Hi Im Troy Donahue and you may remember me as playing manson in this early sex/cultsploitation, one of lloyd kaufmans first apparences, no killing till the last 5 mins, just drugs and softcore sex
14. 5/10 The Snorkel (1958) 74m Some massive plot holes in this, And the snorkel idea was so good they had to use it twice, not!, though the 2nd time was just a criminal mastermid behaviour, paying for 2 hotels within 1 km of each other, the police wont suspect a thing when they check your alibi
15. 6/10 The Caller (1998) 91m - The crazy lady done over the top nuts made for a film good
16. 6/10 Dahmer (2002) 101m - Renner was actually quite good in this better than other things I've seen him in. As with these films one wonders how accurate the depictions are. Apparently Ive only seen 3 films about Dahmer, feels like Ive seen 10
17. 6/10 Office Killer (1997) 82m - Decent comedy, The main actress always does a good job though 80% of her roles were the same
18. 4/10 The Hound of the Baskervilles (1978) 78m - painful to watch in places
