The Boy is most superior brahs




This is the best horror movie I've seen since It Follows. It's an engrossing study of incipient sociopathy that benefits greatly from the services of actual professional actors such as David Morse. You may recall him from his recent outing as the Cult Leader in True Detective Season Two. The kid who plays the kid is awesome. He is a glowering little bundle of resentment, as he smoothly tranistions from animals to humans in his career as a serial killer. The story and screenplay are also stellar. There's exellent understanding and attention to detail, particularly in scenes whtere the boy is "practicing being human" by trying on different smiles and various phrases into a mirror. He is teaching himslef how to pass for an actual human being. I give this 10/10 brahs.

6/10. I think Bloody Birthday was an odd cruel film but the set up and certain scenes that weren't directed well was really frustrating. I think the premise was cool and I exprected more
