SHAFT

Jun 2019
WOW! So I got the chance to see Shaft this past weekend! I took my family for Fatherโ€™s Day, and WOW! I loved every second of it! Samuel L Jackson is one of my favorite actors and he did not disappoint! The story line was pretty good! The set up of it was good. I didnโ€™t think there were any slow moments! Lots of funny parts, so youโ€™ll always be laughing throughout the movie! Regina Hall made an appearance and that girl is beyond gorgeous!!

Anyways, I think thereโ€™s gonna be another one made! So Iโ€™m super excited!!

Sorry, itโ€™s my first post and Iโ€™m kind of awkward lol but I just wanted to share that if any of yโ€™all were thinking of watching it, GO SEE IT!!

I still haven't seen the new one, but I have every intention to. I still can't believe this series is half a century old and still going.

Shaft 2019 was a pretty decent sequel. It's a lot of old school vs new school stuff, in which old school is always the cooler solution. Plus, it's a lot of Sam Jackson's complete disregard for safety when crossing the street and driving a car.

Our new blood is pretty square, and is often compared to a white person, but he has his moments, particularly when he's drunk fighting.

Sam Jackson still gets all the ladies and beats up all the thugs. There's a fair amount of comedy in the movie, and a lot of it has to do with Sam Jackson being too suave for everyone else to handle. After all, this character is a Shaft, but that's where things got quite confusing to me...

In the 2000 film, Sam Jackson was the nephew of Richard Roundtree. That bit was well established, but in this film, they decided to make him the son of Roundtree. It makes sense for it to be like that, but I just don't know why they did it differently in the previous movie. emoticon

Too bad Richard Roundtree was only in it during the last 20 something minutes, but his presence was very welcome. At 77, that old dude is still cool as hell.

Iโ€™m so glad you finally got to see it!
Yeah that part confused me too, but I guess directors can just do anything they want ๐Ÿคฃ

Iโ€™m really glad he made an appearance as well! I wish he was in it a bit more, but it was good to see him still kicking ass!
