So today I watched Stay Alive. Years ago, I saw the trailer and thought this movie looked cool, but I never watched it. I still though the movie looked cool, and the concept seemed very interesting. For the most part it was intriguing. It wasn't the best thing out there, but I didn't hate it. I think I have a soft spot for movies that have this kind of concept. Like final destination, and truth or dare. Mostly I like seeing the different ways people get killed.

Anyways, have y'all seen this movie? I would love to hear your thoughts on it!

I have seen it. I enjoyed it too. The last time I checked, it didn't get too much respect online, but... I thought it was scary!

The girl who... survives? I think she survives the whole movie... anyway, the girl with the short blonde hair and dark eyebrows looks like one of the main actresses in Hot Shots Part Deux! I used to think maybe they were mother and daughter. Samaire Armstrong is the Stay Alive girl, and Brenda Bakke is the HSPD girl. I don't think they're related.

But, I like the effects they had in Stay Alive. The girl crawling up and down the walls, etc... creepy stuff! They probably blew a lot of their budget getting those fairly popular actors and actresses, so it's impressive that they were able to do anything good with whatever they had left. Sometimes Grave Encounters reminded me of Stay Alive... I wonder if they borrowed any of their ideas for effects from it?

I thought that guy getting killed along the lonely country road was spooky too. It made me think of the reporter lady, Joan Hart, getting killed in Omen 2 (1978).

The Elizabeth Bathory angle has been done before, but I don't remember seeing it in a New Orleans context before. That was interesting to see.

I liked the idea of the goth girl being named October! That was pretty cool. I have a cousin named December.

So anyway... yeah, I think it's respectable. No complaints from me!

I didn't know that the Elizabeth Bathory story was done before, I have never even heard of her before. I loved the gothic style, and the video game aspect it was so cool to see that done. I will have to look up the basis for this then!

Actually this whole movie reminded of of Playable Teaser for a silent hill game that got scrapped in like 2014. I loved the creepy dark setting!

I hope I can find more interesting movies to watch this month! I do love concepts like thats

Whoops, I just tried to post a link but it got all jumbled up with percentage signs and random funkiness. Just search Wikipedia for "Elizabeth Bathory in popular culture." There's a whole section about films that have some reference to her.
