So lately I have been thinking about books that were made into movies or tv shows. And there are a few that I wish were never made, or should have been a tv show, or a tv show that maybe should have been a movie. I hate the Eragon movie, they completely messed it up. It was such a good book, and they could have done so much better. Another series that I think would have been way better as a tv show is Vampire Academy. The books are dark, and the movie was made into a comedy, and they completely missed the entire feel of the book.
Are there any books you wished were never adapted, or any that you wish was a tv show or vice versa? And I guess on the opposite side of thing are there any movies that fit perfectly with the book? I would love to hear yโ€™alls thoughts!

What movie/book you never heard of? And Vampire Diaries Show is great! But the books, not so much. I was bored reading them! I loved Five Feet Apart! They did perfect!

Oh yeah! I think I blocked out the lighting thief and Sea of Monsters. Percy Jackson was one of my favorite series, and the movies sucked!! I havenโ€™t read fight club, and donโ€™t kill me, but I havenโ€™t even watched Shawshank redemption yet.
And I completely agree with the actors making us believe that character, but I think itโ€™s also up to the screen writer to get that feeling that we love from the books into the movie as well. If you write a comedy movie based on a book thatโ€™s isnโ€™t a supposed to be funny it just ruins it in my opinion.

Another movie seriesโ€™s they messed up was divergent. The books were fantastic, and they completely messed up the story in movie two which in its own isnโ€™t not a bad movie, but not the movie it should have been.

I also like what they did with the Maze Runner Series. They changed it up but it worked over all with the series, and Dylan Oโ€™brien did a fantastic job as the main character.

Fair enough, but as an avid reader I do like the movies to at least stay true to the story. But I also understand when they need to change it up a bit to get people more interested in the movies and tv series. But if you are going to adapt a book at least keep the story, and the feel of the book the same.
