For the past couple of months @box has been showing me the Rocky movies. I had never watched them before; and believe me, I am kicking myself in the ass for waiting this long to watch them. I loved every single moment of these movies. I am not a sports person, and usually do not like to watch any movies in which a sport is the main focus. But I gave it a shot and never looked back. This is definitely a series in which I hope continues, but if Creed II is the last one, then I am satisfied with the last movie. Creed II, in my opinion, is probably the second best of the series.

I don't like boxing and I don't like sports, but this focuses enough on the hardships surrounding the characters competing in said sport, which makes it much more interesting. Of course, it ends up being great either way, since we know the movies always culminate with an epic fight.

Usually, the opponents are pretty decent too. Apollo is the man, Dolph is Dolph-tastic, and Dolph's son is also surprisingly decent. Mr T was obnoxious, but that's why Rocky had to knock his block off. The guy in part 6 was pretty mediocre, though. He didn't have much significance, which is probably why he's not still around. And even though I just watched Creed 1 recently, I already forgot the opponent in that one. Again. Also, Tommy Gunn can go fuck himself.

I have heard that the Rocky movies are a really huge deal to people from Philadelphia. The character Rocky embodies their spirit to persevere, their fighting spirit, etc.

I just wanted to mention that I just learned that Stan Shaw, who played Sheriff Tashtego (the black sheriff) in Jeepers Creepers 3, was in the original Rocky as a young boxer. It looks like he's a serious badass, he could fuck me up bigtime.
