Ready or Not

This movie was uneven but had its moments. There was a lot of attempts at some dark humor. Sometimes it worked and other times it didnโ€™t. I couldnโ€™t decide who I really wanted to win in this one. The bride was somewhat likeable and the family was so stupid and inept but I like watching people sacrificed to Satan. The best laughs came at the end.

Overall, pretty much what you get in modern day horror. Paint by numbers with decent writing and some good gore. The only they that made me cringe a little was the complete ineptness of the family, but that was done for humorโ€™s sake.

You beat me to it. But, I was gonna post something positive. I have not seen it yet, but this guy on Twitter sounds he absolutely loved it. https://twitter.com/Massawyrm/status/1164396780676669442

I'm seeing this at a festival on Sunday. Quite looking forward to it despite the slight whiff of "modern day horror", I like Adam Brody and Andie McDowell and the concept amuses me. I can dig uneven if there's enough verve and fun. Was either this or Darlin' a sequel to The Woman which is also apparently uneven, but with some much darker territory, which is more the kind of uneven that I don't appreciate.
