I am surprised that The Fly, Nosferatu, and The Beyond were not taken. Aliens probably didn't fit everyone's definition of horror. Friday the 13th was basically covered with two sequels taken.

I almost went with The Fly for my final spot. Had it narrowed down to that and Zombie. Only went with Zombie because I'd seen it more recently. Aliens crossed my mind at one point, but I didn't really consider it for the reason you stated. I think of it more as action and sci-fi with some horror elements.

I had a lot of those on my list of 300. I used the T.E. top100 horror films for my first 5 picks or so but then went more into what films I really like that the others would like enough to vote for my list. Certain trash members aren't so fond of silent horror or classic 30-40's horror so I bypassed favorites like Nosferatu, Freaks and Mad Love. I was surprised The Howling, The Blob (88), Candyman(Biggie Smalls, Biggie Smalls....Biggie Smalls) or The Brood wasn't chosen.

I almost picked The Lost Boys, but I had some stupid reason that I thought I should pick something else. But, yeah, some good ones we missed. Also, there was a remake of 2000 Maniacs with Robert Englund, in 2005, called 2001 Maniacs.

Knowing your choices of last pick cause you thought you wouldn't be around when your turn came up...I definitely think you went with the best choice with Demons 2.

Yeah, I am not unhappy I picked Demons 2! I just wished there was some way I could have included a few more movies I like. But yeah, Demons 2 is definitely a keeper. I go through periods now and then when I watch and rewatch it a LOT, for a month or two at a time. I have to remind myself that the characters in it aren't necessarily instantly recognizable to most people, like characters from more mainstream pop culture movies, or even slightly better known horror movies. Like, Sally should arguably be as well known as Angela from Night of the Demons, for example, at least among horror fans, but no one would ever recognize a reference to her. Except here, of course.

I think I thought someone would have to pick Lost Boys, soon after Near Dark. Someone picked Near Dark (good cchoice, IMHO!) and I figured it would make some people think of Lost Boys. 1987 was a good year for innovative, cutting edge vampire movies, sort of like 1998 was a good year for asteroid impact movies.

I probably would have picked Lost Boys if we were going for worst horror movies.
