My latest haul

Jun '18
I haven't bought anything for the last few months so I decided to splurge out a little, mostly recent horror movies that I have never got around to seeing. Anyway, here is what I picked up;

100 Ghost Street: The Return of Richard Speck 2012
Anneliese: The Exorcist Tapes 2011
8213: Gacy House 2010
Paranormal Entity 2009
The Borderlands 2013
The Dyatlov Pass Incident 2013
The Taking of Deborah Logan 2014
Blair Witch 2016
Fermat's Room 2007
The Bay 2012
Shadows of the Dead 2004
The Visit 2015
Alien Abduction 2014
Kiss of the Damned 2012
Tales from the Darkside: The Movie 1990
It Follows 2014
The VVitch: A New-England Folktale 2015
Graveyard Shift 1987
Rats - Notte di terrore 1984
The Slayer 1982
Wilderness 2006
Dead Above Ground 2002
Faust: Love of the Damned 2000
Scared 2002
Urban Ghost Story 1998
The Addiction 1995 (This is one of my favorites, but oddily enough I never owned a copy of it)
The Sacrament 2013
The Devil's Tattoo 2003
The Autopsy of Jane Doe 2016
Lights Out 2016
A Cure for Wellness 2017
When the Lights Went Out 2012

What does everyone think?

I like It Follows a lot, as well as The Autopsy of Jane Doe. Tales from the Darkside, Graveyard Shift, and The Sacrament are also decent. Some of these titles sound like DTV crap though. Hopefully not too many of them will suck ass.

I've seen Blair Witch, Fermat's Room, Tales from the Darkside, It Follows, The Witch, Graveyard Shift, Rats, The Addiction, and The Sacrament. Not a fan of Blair Witch, The Witch, or Rats. I like the rest to varying degrees. My favorite is probably The Sacrament.

The Visit, Tales from the Darkside, It Follows, The Sacrament, The Autopsy of Jane Doe are all great.

Blair Witch and The Bay are okay.

I seen very little from that list. It Follows was great. Rats is fun, especially if you like post-apacolyptic movies.

It Follows has a nice concept but unfortunately it remains safely within the borders of the teenage paranoia, low on gore and nudity something that doesn't really seem logical given the concept and the first kill. Pretty forgettable and predictable, clichรฉ.

Jane Doe is nice and I'm pretty positive you will like that one, it's original and fresh even though character development is rather poor.

Tales from the Darkside, well I really liked that one.

Faust: Love of the Damned is kickass if you have a rubber fetish.
The Slayer is good

I've only seen It Follows, Dyatlov Pass Incident, Autopsy of Jane Doe and The Slayer.

Everyone here probably knows from the old board that I hated It Follows and Dyatlov Pass Incident. Autopsy of Jane Doe wasn't anything special. The Slayer was an 80s slasher that somehow I hadn't heard of, but it turned out to be maybe just a little above average. It's better than anything anyone could make today, but for the period it just doesn't have much that really stands out.

Have you ever read about the actual Dyatlov Mystery? I wonder what happened to them really? Mass hysteria caused by hypothermia?

Yes, I have read about it. It is an interesting case. I'm surprised more movies have not been made about it, like the Bermuda Triangle and Roswell and other things like that. They seem to all be more widely talked about.

I really liked The Taking of Deborah Logan. You have a lot on there that I've been wanting to see. Let us know if A Cure for Wellness is worth a watch. Nice haul!

I just realized The Dyatlov Pass Incident is the same movie as Devil's Pass. It's pretty good too.
