Is anyone else getting stoked for October yet? Does anyone have an idea of what they what to watch? Do you have anything saved for it?

I know there is still two weeks or so to the kick-off of The October Challenge, and I know that there is a challenge underway, but I am starting to look forward to this years challenge. It is not just the challenge - I like this time of year, when the evenings are shorter. Leaves are falling and Autumn is calling. It is good for TrashEpics too, a sharp increase in activity is inevitable - hopefully activity will be prolonged.

Anyway, I usually put movies aside especially for it. Movies that I haven't had a chance to watch, or movies that I keep putting off, for one reason or another. I already know what I will be watching this year as it saves from rushed choices and ultimate disappointment. I have a nice mixture of foreign, to obscure and hyped horror lined up. It allows gives me the opportunity to explore some directors filmography that I may have not seen to others in which I am concluding their filmography, to watching some Asian horror movies I have not seen before. I usually don't bother with re-watches - I usually just watch first-time-views instead. Anyway here is my list for anyone interested:

I'm always excited for October, but I have nothing picked out to watch. I'll rewatch a few moody flicks for the season, like Exorcist and Amityville, but I might just end up watching whatever crap is available on streaming.

One year, I did almost nothing but FTVs and that was fun, but it's unlikely to find a lot of gems after a certain point. Still, Amazon Prime has a pretty decent selection and I'll probably default to that.

Sorry to say, this is probably the least excited I've ever felt about October. It's a lot of things, but mostly, I blame the hot weather that won't fuck off.

From your list, what little I've seen of it, Malรฉfique, The Devil's Rejects, Onibaba, Angst, and Bride of Frankenstein are good.

My watchlist is small, especially compared to the monster I compiled last year. Mostly from this decade. All FTVs. Not sure if I'll rewatch anything. Leaning towards 'no'.

Bad Moon (1996)
The Mothman Prophecies (2002)
Kill List (2011)
A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014)
What We Do in the Shadows (2014)
Under the Shadow (2016)
Victor Crowley (2017)
3 from Hell (2019)
Midsommar (2019)

I'm never excited for October or any other month where it's cold and wet and there's holidays. I always hated everything related to fall and winter - cold weather, snow, school, sports, holidays, and especially the time change (which might just be the most idiotic thing about America). I'm generally in an even worse mood than usual from September until the end of May.

I can watch movies any time of the year, so that doesn't make this time of year any more appealing.

I always look forward to October. It's basically my Christmas, I look forward to it for a long time. I enjoy the fact that I can't even walk past a TV without seeing a horror movie. I just heard that there was a Bollywood version of Fright Night, so I might try to find that, but otherwise I don't really have a list of movies to watch.... I should, though, of course.

I can watch horror movies whenever I want, so October really isn't a big deal to me. It's not like I can still go trick-or-treating. But I do have three concerts I'm looking forward to next month.

Iโ€™m actually really excited for October!! This will be my first year participating in the challenge, so im super stoked! I have a few movies lined up that I want to watch, but I also want to watch new horror movies that I havenโ€™t seen before! I know for sure I want to see Hereditary & Midsommar! Iโ€™ve heard really great things about both!

I can't wait!

Usually don't plan to watch anything, but I have a few movies queued up on Netflix and will likely do the same on Amazon. I always pick a few movies I own. Those public domain Collections come in handy this time of year and they usually contain a few gems. Saw Dementia 13 for the first time on one of them

Kind of thinking I'll get more rewatches in than I usually, but any plans I make tend to go by the way side. Whatever I watch, it'll be a good time.
