I always like to be on the look-out for horror movies that I like to see is there a similar movie out there to them.

Here is what I consider to be similiar:

Long Weekend (1978)/The Territory (1981) - both involving hiking trips with with Mother Nature fighting back
Duel (1971 TV Movie)/The Car (1977) - desert settings involving powerful vehicles.
I Am a Ghost (2012)/I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016) - both poetic introspective haunted-house films involving female protagonists.
Sole Survivor (1984)/Final Destination (2000) - death hunts down and collects people in the form of destiny.
Martin (1977)/Mary, Mary, Bloody Mary (1975) - protagonists are not vampires, but need to drink blood.
I Zombie: The Chronicles of Pain (1998)/Colin (2008) - documents physical and mental deterioration.
Cube (1997)/Saw (2004) - strangers involuntarily placed in an endless maze containing deadly traps.
The Brotherhood of Satan (1971)/The Night God Screamed (1971) - both involving cult of satanists.
The Babysitter (2017)/Better Watch Out (2016) - both horror-comedies involving babysitters.

Can anyone think of any in their opinions?

The Wailing (2016) and Possessed (2009)
-both S Korean, both contain elements of "Shamanism vs. Christianity" and "possessed" family members.

I seen The Wailing (2016) but I haven't seen Possessed (2009).

I believe you were a fan of Dance of the Damned 1988, have you seen the remake To Sleep with a Vampire (1993) ? What did you think?

I was going to be a smart ass and post a bunch of remakes and their originals, but instead I'm just telling you that I was going to do that.

No, you would be in your right to. I should have phrased it better.

Cube/saw?

Cube is a rip off of, beyond the seventh door, starring the marvellous lazar!

I forgot that one.

I think Long Weekend/The Territory would make a good double bill if i say so myself.

"The Night God Screamed"... Wow. Nice title.

Near Dark, and John Carpenter's Vampires, and The Forsaken are all vampire movies set in the modern (well, fairly modern) southwestern US.

You should watch it. Great film.

Yes, Near Dark and Vampires. I haven't seen The Forsaken.

Wicked Little Things (2006) and Silent Hill (200?): both horrors with ghostly children haunting the locale of a mining accident from decades before.

Not horror but:

Deep Impact (1998) and Armageddon (1998).
2012 (2009) and The Core (2003)
Threads (1984) and The Day After (1983)

Threads (1984) and The Day After (1983) is a great choice. Both harrowing films.

Threads, in particular, is extremely harrowing. I have a lot of respect for The Day After, and the impact it had, but Threads is like geting punched in the stomach. And nuked, of course.

I always thought Dead Birds and Scarecrows were pretty similar in storyline. Dead Birds is during the Civil War and Scarecrows is in present day, but the premise is the same.

Queen of Blood (1966) and Lifeforce (1985). They both have female vampires from outer space who victimize astronauts. In QoB, the main senior scientist character is named Farraday, and in Lifeforce the character who is most like Farraday is named Fallada. I seriously doubt that that is a coincidence. It's kind of wild to see John Saxon, who is still alive, in a movie with Basil Rathbone. I like that type of thing, seeing actors from different eras together.

Queen of Blood (1966) was excellent. Apparently, it was the inspiration for Alien.
