I suppose the other thread should be deleted but not sure how to do it.

I've ordered Absentia, The Intruder, Beyond the Darkness and Eye in the Labyrinth. Beyond the Darkness is backordered so not sure when I'll actually get it, but the others should be here later this week.

Tonight I took a break from horror and watched one of my favorite 80s movies on Blu-ray: Fast Times at Ridgemont High

You could just insert the date in the subject line, yakko. That would make it easier to differentiate betwen the weekly threads. emoticon (edit: nevermind, looks like you did that already)

Was it the blu ray of Beyond the Darkness that you ordered? That was on backorder when I got it a few years ago too, but it was well worth the wait (which was almost 10 months).

I didn't watch a single movie last week. At least I don't think I did...

I did buy the extra special edition of Blue Sunshine on blu ray though: https://www.filmcentrix.com/product/blue-sunshine/

Yes, it was the Blu-ray. It will probably be awhile.

Fast Times is supposed to come to my theater soon. Maybe I should watch it on the big screen. I'd recently heard that David Lynch was rumored to direct it at one point. That'd be mind-blowing. Probably literally.

Not many viewings from me. I saw The Dark Tower, Baby Driver, and Trashcans of Terror. I enjoyed them all, which means there's something wrong with me.

I did learn a while back that Lynch was approached to direct that movie at one point. It's hard to imagine what it would've been like. It doesn't even seem like his type of movie. Maybe it's just as well he didn't. We might have ended up not seeing Phoebe Cates in that red bikini.

The Last Broadcast is actually the best FF flick i have ever seen. *HOWEVER* something tells me you are gonna absolutely hate the ending :) Now i can't really tell you why as it's gonna be a spoiler but i really hope i am wrong in my assertion.

Only watched one movie: The Defiant Ones (1958). It was on TCM as part of Sidney Poitier's day for Summer Under the Stars. He and Tony Curtis are prisoners who escape while still chained together. I liked it.

Hopefully I'll have more to report next week. Plan to start watching some summer-themed movies before the month's over.

Still haven't bought anything. Still want the Planet of the Apes set.

had never heard of Eye in the Labyrinth, but good to see the full movie is on youtube will have to check it out...

Seen:

Shiver 2012 - psycho killer John Jarret abducts Danielle Harris & is persued by Dets. Casper V Dien and Rae D Chong. Great B movie schlocker premise ruined by boring routine by the numbers 'thriller'. 4/10

Alone in the Dark 1982 - semi satirical slasher where a blackout enables some deadly patients to escape the loony bin and terrorise the local doctor, his family, and pretty much anyone else they find. 6/10

American Honey 2016 - overlong, baggy and ultimately annoying road trip with fantastic cinematography and impressive 'naturalistic' acting. Wanted to like it but didn't 4/10

Inside No.9 (TV 2015 - ) anthology series of half hour one off shows set entirely in a different 'No.9' house each time. Most are a horror/comedy/mystery story with a twist. Very hit n miss, only seen the first series so far & loved two eps, hated two and the other two were ok...

Bought:
Silent Night, Deadly Night 1984 & The Prowler 1981 both DVD

I just watched one horror this last week. The It mini-series which struck me as kinda meh this time. The first half is definitely better.

I also watched both mini-series of Roots (1977 & 2016). Both have strengths and weaknesses but both are actually pretty solid. I'll get around to Roots: The Next Generations in a couple of weeks.

Right now I am watching the min-series of 11.22.63 and it is quite good. King's novel was too and this is really a superb adaptation - even adding some nuances to the original.

The It miniseries was a letdown in the second half for me too. I haven't seen it since, but I remember really enjoying the first half. In the second half I couldn't quite get how the creepy clown suddenly became a giant killer spider that looked like something out of one of those low budget 1950s giant bug movies.

I agree. The clown was a cool boogeyman. The giant spider could have been a cool monster. The movie didn't need both of them. I'm sure it was like that in the book too although it's been way too long for me since I read it.
