Pizza

Jun '22
I eat a lot of pizza. Sometimes, I think the pizza is eating me. After work, I always check for pizza on clearance. I recently discovered Detroit style pizza and it's fucking good eh. And breakfast pizza is my SHIT. But I'll eat any pizza, so the more toppings, the better. Supreme is good because it tricks the pizza into being a bit more healthy since it has veggies.

Are you a ninja turtle like I am? What's your favorite pizza type/place?

I don't trust people who don't love pizza.

Deep dish Sicilian pizza is really good. I don't know if it exsts everywhere, but some places around Boston offer it...

I am also a big fan of Pepe's Pizza, an old New Haven pizzeria that has apparently been franchising in recent years, or at least opening new locations. Pepe's has white clam pizza, which I don't even know how they ever thought of,but it's really good. My grandparents knew the original Pepe who started the restaurant, so it's sort of a tradition for some branches of my family.

I used to go with some friends to a place that had Jamaican Jerk pizza! I thought that was amazing.

Sicilian does sound good. Considering all the different styles of pizza out there, it seems like a great scavenger hunt for me. I should dedicate my life to pizza.

I think pizza is one of the only things on the planet that just about everyone can agree on. Maybe not everyone's favorite but who the fuck just don't like it? Never known anyone except maybe my grandfather who I'm pretty sure never even tried "that mess" due to extreme narrow mindedness. Yeah, I'm with ZNep cuz anyone who says they don't like it is probably just trying to be difficult like my grandfather.

Pizza Hut and Papa John's is good. Hungry Howies is better. We got some local places around here that's not bad. Great Value thin crust pepperoni from the Wal Mart is better than it should be. Used to love me some Fazoli's pizza and spaghetti before they disapppeared from this area. I'm a sucker for some bacon, black olives and green peppers. Marinara sauce is almost always a must.

I'm still not sure what the difference is between traditional tomato sauce and marinara. emoticon

The google says...

"Marinara can be left chunky; the texture of the finished sauce is fairly loose, and the taste is that of fresh tomatoes. Tomato sauce, on the other hand, is a more complex affair, starting with pureed tomatoes seasoned with onion, carrot, celery, and bay leaf, and left to simmer until thickened and rich in flavor"

Fair enough. I'm probably not cultured enough to tell the difference. Either one works fine for a real pizza, but changing the sauce on a pizza can somehow still be good. I'll eat chicken alfredo pizza. Easily. And changing the crust can be a good thing too. I need another Little Caeser's pretzel crust pizza.

Pizza can be defined in various ways, and that's why people like it. It's the food to unite us all.

Here's a fact: pizza tastes better cold.

I'd rather it eat when the cheese is fresh and gooey, but I'm definitely not opposed to pulling out the leftovers and eating them cold. I can be super lazy. Sometimes, I don't even finish my

Have you ever had pizza with broccoli as a topping? Some people refuse to even contemplate trying something so radical, but, I like it. You have to have the broccoli raw, or maybe steamed just a little, because its crunchiness is what adds value and interestingness to the pizza... I'm actually surprised that I ever tried it, because I am definitely the type of person who would usually say nope nope nope nope, not for me, when confronted with such a freakish, unholy variation on normal pizza. But somebody must have talked me into it at some point. I was probably drunk.

Raw sounds wak. Wouldn't it be better to sog it up a bit? Of course, I would try it. I've tried macaroni pizza from Cici's, so why wouldn't I try it? Broccoli is good when mixed with cheese. And on a related note, I'm always seeing cauliflower crust pizza, but I don't think I've tried it. I guess some people hate bread?

Broccoli is a pretty common topping in most Indy owned pizzarias in NYC. Ever try artichoke hearts for a topping? White slice with spinach? Fn delicious. I'm pretty much game with all toppings except pineapple... that's just nasty imo.

Pineapple on pizza is a big no in the Italian cuisine! Recently read about what you can't do when eating Italian. Don't cut your spaghetti with a knife, you should only eat it with a fork, don't put ketchup in the spaghetti sauce and so on.

Only a savage would cut spaghetti with a knife! And ketchup is gross no matter where you put it. And that pizza pic you posted is my kind of pizza. emoticon

Well I try not to exaggerate with pizza but I'm a fan of the Italian kitchen. We order pizza once in a few weeks with Domino's. They have so many choices and I love to try as many as possible. I guess my favorite is extravaganzza.

I just tried nacho chicken thin crust pizza: nacho cheese sauce, real cheese, tomatos, onions, and jalapenos. Why don't more pizza makers get the nobel peace prize?
