It's been a while since I saw them, so I kicked off my FF viewings with the first three movies and I liked them more than I remembered. Generally entertaining anthologies, though I have to say that part 2 is my favorite of the bunch. Highlight skits include the bicyclist who encounters zombies who crash the birthday party in the woods. The one that stuck with me was the alien invasion. Normally, I could care less what happens to the people in these things, but... SPOILERS... who cares if the boy gets abducted. What really broke my heart is seeing him drop the dog and watching it fall to its death. This mostly gets to me because I have a crappy little brown dog like that. Yikes.

I think Viral had its moments, but might be the weakest of the bunch. The wraparound starts off interestingly chaotic, but it ends up making little sense, and the magician skit seemed a bit too outrageous, but the skater skit was alright.

So which movie or skit did you like most? And has anybody seen V/H/S/94?

You mean to tell me there are more than three?

The fourth one just came out. October I think? Haven't heard much about it. They were spitting them out every year for first three, but then they took several years off for the new one, so who knows if there's any consistency to it.

This just in... apparently, there was a 4 episode mini-series in 2018 too. That one slipped by completely unnoticed.

I did see that movie Siren, which was spunoff from the first segment of the first movie. It was pretty good, though there were really no likeable characters. Also, not found footage.

I watched V/H/S/94 during the October challenge. It's in the same style as the others. The segments are pretty good and the wraparound is fairly decent. I haven't seen the other 3 films for a while and so I can't say how 94 stacks up to the others.

I gave V/H/S/94 a watch last night and I suppose I would say it stacks up as well as any other. I'd note that there didn't seem to be as many segments, but none of them were truly a bore.

There was the rat-man in the sewers, which was okay. Notable for acidic vomit! Then there was the funeral parlor zombie bit, which had its interesting moments, though I must have zoned out some time in-between because the ending seemed random as hell to me. The segment that seemed to take up about half of the movie fortunately was the more interesting one about a mad scientist making cyborgs out of kidnapped victims. Had a Hardcore Henry aspect to it. Then lastly was the redneck skit with some weird barn they were trying to contain. I zoned out a bit on that one.

A common theme here was body horror. Every segment seemed to have some weird shit going on with the human body, especially that cyborg one. Overall, still a decent franchise.
