I just watched a doc on Hulu about Nick from early inception to the 90s. Big trip down memory lane for me. I grew up in a great time for kids tv. Also, the creator lady of Blues Clues is pretty hot.

The first thing I remember about this channel was You Can't Do That On Television, which may have been my introduction to comedy. Then, coming home every day from Kindergarten and watching Pinwheel, Nickelodeon's answer to Sesame Street. Lots of unusual European cartoons on there, as well as Bill Cosby's "Picture Pages" skits. After Pinwheel came what many consider the best thing that channel put out in the 80's, The Mysterious Cities Of Gold, which, to this day, I highly recommend.
Nick At Nite was pretty great, with various random sitcoms from the 50's and 60's. Then there was Hey Dude which was fucking stupid, and later, Salute Your Shorts which wasn't. Once shows like Clarissa Explains It All, Doug and Rugrats come along, I started to lose interest. Are You Afraid Of The Dark? was a good pg horror show. That and Ren And Stimpy was about it for me.
I took an occasional peak as recently at the late 90's, with Blues Clues and shit. Can't imagine what they'd be playing on there these days. Probably something better than what's on USA and TBS.
