Dec 2019
It's almost the end of the year, though you can revise your answers if you're ever so inclined...

Of all the movies in 2019, I think I enjoyed Rambo V: Last Blood the most. Not to say that it's a perfect movie, but it kind of is. Critics trashed it, trying to put a political spin on it, but they're a bunch of ass-hats. The movie was a concise and brutal revenge film, and with a legendary pop culture icon nonetheless. Something about this movie stuck with me. Haunted me. I loved how bleak and nihilistic it all was.

I also liked The Beach Bum a lot, but that's because I'm a Harmony Korine fanboy bitch. Surprisingly, Terminator isn't my favorite.

I still need to watch The Irishman, but that may be a contender from the cast and crew alone. Next year, all I care for is Halloween Kills!

What about you? What was your favorite 2019 movie (thus far)?

I think my favorite 2019 viewing would probably have to be The Shining and Doctor Sleep! I can't believe it took me that long to watch the Shining. I loved the creepiness, and the feel of it. And also loving that I have been to where the movie was filmed.

As for Doctor sleep, I loved, loved, loved it. The cast did an amazing job, and I found myself wishing for more when it was over. I never felt bored, and it made me want to read the book.

There were a lot of other movies that I loved this year, but those would have to be my favorites!

Either Deadwood: The Movie or The Irishman for me. I didn't love either movie. Deadwood should've been longer and The Irishman was too long. But right now, they're the standouts. My answer will likely change after I watch Rambo 5.

Glass got bad reviews, huh? I waited 19 years for that damn movie, and for what it was... I liked it enough. I still feel that they were trying to push the James McAvoy character(s) a lot, probably because he was still fresh on everyone's mind from Split, but I wanted more Bruce Willis in that movie!

What Men Want (7/10)

Isn't It Romantic (7/10)

Happy Death Day 2 U (8/10)

A Madea Family Funeral (5/10)

Us (5/10)

The Beach Bum (8/10)

Little (4/10)

The Curse Of La Llorona (6/10)

Avengers: Endgame (10/10)

Pokemon Detective Pikachu (6/10)

A Dog's Journey (7/10)

Rocketman (10/10)

Shaft (8/10)

Toy Story 4 (2/10)

Child's Play (4/10)

Annabelle Comes Home (8/10)

The Lion King (8/10)

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (9/10)

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark (1/10)

Good Boys (1/10)

It Chapter 2 (9/10)

Hustlers (7/10)

Joker (10/10)

Harriet (10/10)

My favorite viewing this year would have to be either the Joker, Shaft, or Glass. Rocketman is a real close one as well. I'm a huge Samuel L. Jackson fan so anything he is in is a great movie for me. Shaft had me laughing throughout the movie, and Glass I wish it didn't end the way it did, but it was still good overall. Joker was really sad, but good. I don't want to ramble on too much, my comment is long as it is already.

You do realize that you're supposed to rant on here, right?

I'm glad you liked The Beach Bum. That's in my top-5 of the year.

I haven't seen that many 2019 releases (too behind on the years preceding this one still), but Midsommar was quite easily the best. It's the only film I rated 9/10 this year... next would probably be the new Woodstock doc that deals mainly with the organization and logistics of putting on that event. I highly rec it to anyone into that counterculture era.

Midsommar is definitely the best horror movie I've seen of the year. By a country mile.

Troma and I went to see Terminator: Dark Fate which I enjoyed a lot more than I thought I would. Some things about it bugged me, but I won't get into that. Overall, I thought it was a fun movie.

My favorite viewing this year has to be Midsommar. I LOVED that movie. I think I even liked it a bit more than Hereditary. Ari Aster is quickly becoming one of my favortie directors and I can't wait to see more from him.

Ari Aster is the bomb. Watch his short film "The Strange Thing about the Johnsons" on youtube. It's fucked up.

Terminator was my most anticipated movie of the year. It satisfied me, but it's definitely not on par with 1 and 2. Nothing will ever be as good as those.

znep posted about it not too long ago.

Ari Aster looks like such a nerd, but he's a legit creep. I can't wait to see what he does next. Hopefully it's more horror stuff.
