These days, they get really lazy with taglines, or they flat-out don't have them. These sort of things help sell a movie and most of the time, taglines suck. Or their just short and simple and stupid. There are a few standouts, though. Some of my favorites:

Easy Rider (1969) - A man went looking for America. And couldn't find it anywhere...

Re-Animator (1985) - Herbert West has a very good head on his shoulders... and another one in a dish on his desk.

Alien (1979) - In space, no one can hear you scream.

Killer Klownz from Outer Space (1988) - In space, no one can eat ice cream.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974) - Who will survive and what will be left of them?

Vertigo (1958) - A tall story about a pushover

Got any more good ones?

Ma'am, aka It's Ma'am (inside joke between me and Der) makes me think of that SNL movie It's Pat, which I've never seen, but "Pat" is a weird man and/or woman.

The Room's tagline might be the best ever.

The Last House on the Left (1972) - To avoid fainting, keep repeating: "It's only a movie, only a movie, only a movie..."

I'll have to search for some taglines, but I do know my favorite line from a horror movie.

It's from The Video Dead when a girl is talking about a poodle she was walking as it ran off

April: You don't understand. He likes to chase skunks in the woods, and if he finds them he tries to mate with them. Only skunks don't like to mate with poodles, and then they spray him, and he really gets turned on!

I love that line. I used to have a dog who got sprayed a lot, and he never got turned on! Just more pissed off.

The first time I heard it, I had to rewind the movie just to be sure that's what she said.emoticon

Nice, because I don't know what to expect with that one. Yeah, I've seen it... and I still don't know wtf was going on. I only remember... pieces of it. *canned laughter*

The Company of Wolves (1984) -"In the dead of night the beast is unleashed. The desire, the fantasy, the nightmare..."

The Devil's Nightmare (1971) - "Your soul isn't the only thing she will suck out"

Black Christmas (1974) - "If this movie doesn't make your skin crawl, it's on TOO tight". Simple, effective and brilliant, never loses potency even years later.
