I got to see the boys, LIVE in Dallas. It was fucking great. We have a shamefully low amount of fans on this site, but the Trailer Park Boys are awesome. Truly one of my favorite acts out there, and I had a blast at their show.

To start things off, me and @der went to The Majestic theater, which is pretty classy. It's golden and artistic inside, and the seats are pretty nice. As soon as we walked in though, you could see how overpriced everything is. The shirts ranged from $40 to $70, probably because the boys are Canadian, and they don't understand the value of real money, but we'll forgive 'em. It is one of their gimmicks to be as greasy as possible.

Der needed a few drinks in him to fully enjoy the experience, so he shed at least $20 on drinks, and $20 on a raffle to hang with them. I'm insanely jealous of him, because he got to touch Randy Bobandy's fat gut. His gut was a prominent aspect of that show. Of course, the camera dicks focus on it for the majority of Randy's screentime, because it's a character in itself.

The audience interaction was pretty great too. They'd shout out lines, and rile people up. One fuckin' girl kept shouting out for Bubbles, even when he wasn't on stage. She was fucked, but goddamnit... this show was funny as hell.

Bubbles basically has a show planned, but Ricky and Randy have to duke it out before the "show" can actually begin, but it is the show. There are plenty of montage clips, and a fair tribute to Lahey. Randy had half of the audience scream "Ricky's-a" and the other half would say, "dick". A lot of the audience would scream "Fuck you, Randy!" throughout the show, and it's funny to think that this is an event where that kind of behavior is welcomed, because the boys are all about being trash.

It seems to be a staple in their stage shows to:
- Attack each other with piss, as well as the audience
- Have Bubbles sing his song "Liquor and Whores"
- Have Julian scamming the audience out of their money
- Get Randy so mad at Ricky that he has to take off the pants
- Cheeseburger jokes
- Audience participation on stage

One of my favorite bits was Randy and Ricky playing "ball-off". That's where they squeeze eachother's ballsacks as hard as they can, and whoever flinches first loses. What a fuckin' game, right?

There was also a whole "Sunnyvale Feud" gameshow that Bubbles hosted:

Bubbles: Name a green vegetable.
Ricky: An orange. Ah, fuck!

Bubbles: Name an animal smaller than a cat.
Ricky: A gorilla! Fuck! No... a 6-inch gorilla!

What a blast... These guys are as funny as they ever were. Bubbles is always the mediator, Julian didn't contribute much other than a screen presence, and Ricky was dumb as fuck, as to be expected. Randy is introduced dancing his gut out to "Jitterbug", and then he legitimately got really sweaty, as per his character.

They did a few Dallas related jokes, like talking about Whataburger, and Texans loving guns. I'm sure the specifics have to change for each city, but damn if those boys aren't great entertainers.

I just started watching about a year ago, it's one of the greatest shows I've seen. It's no surprise they would be great live. One thing that amazes me about the show is that after 12 seasons it has really never had a significant drop in quality. That's almost unheard of for a comedy show.

These guys have an incredible committment to their characters and gimmicks. When they're in public, they are the Trailer Park Boys. They never break character. Julian will always have that rum and coke in his hand, and Ricky will always be a dumbass, and bubbles will always wear those glasses. Randy will never wear a shirt, and Lahey? He is the liquor.

These guys haven't changed in 20 years, and they're starting to realize it. They reference it in the show at times, as well as in the stage show. Their characters have had almost NO overall arc in the entire series, and it's wonderful. They're still trailer trash idiots who never learn from their mistakes, and I fucking love it.

Glad you and @der were able to go and have a greasy time! I saw them live at the end of August at Red Rocks and had the time of my life. Ended up going solo, but it didn't hinder the experience at all. The show went down pretty much the same way yours did, but with jokes about CO and such. Also, Lahey was there and it's damn depressing that he died less than two months after I went to the show. He seemed fine during the show, was actively participating in a lot of the skits and didn't show any apparent signs that he was sick. I'm just glad that he was so dedicated to the character and was having fun up until the very end.

It's interesting to go into these things knowing that everyone around you is good company. They're all about getting drunk and high as fuck, and getting people's belly's. The crowd reactions is always an interesting thing to note. When Ricky and Randy are getting mad at each other, someone yells "Take the pants off!". They're like the Donny's I guess. The people off-screen who yell what the audience is thinking.

I'm sure the show would have been even better with Lahey around, but they still made us all laugh. A lot. It's a shame that he went so suddenly, of an undisclosed ailment. Probably liver failure, from all the liquoring... but a real trooper till the end.
