Just kidding. It's a rather obscure genre meld, but it's a thing now, with David Ayer's new Netflix movie "Bright". Will Smith is an LAPD cop, with an orc partner. It's an alternate take on racism... medieval fantasy races, that is.

As a David Ayer movie, it's loads better than Suicide Squad. That's because this movie is TV-MA, which is netflix's way of being R. That's right... R-rated contemporary fantasy shit, set in an L.A. backdrop.

Somehow, it kinda works though. Orc gangs? Obnoxious fairies? Arrogant business elves? This movie is all right.

Though, if you happen to know of ANY other crime/fantasy movies, feel free to list then. emoticon

Cast A Deadly Spell is a very fun fantasy/noir/comedy hybrid. I would not recommend the sequel Witch Hunt though.

Sounds crazy I like fantasy but crime not that much even though you often do have crimes in fantasy universes too, there is spies and thieves, pirates etc.

Or how about western fantasy: Elves are the Indians given they are good with bow and arrow. Who will be the cow-boys and the cavalerie?

Why must it always be Will Smith in a new trendy movie, is het that desperate for attention?

Sounds a bit like Caan n Mandy's partnership in Alien Nation. Can't think of any crime/fantasy crossovers, lots of sci fi ones... would RIPD count? anyway might give Bright a look later today

The only other one I can think of is RIPD, and man, did that movie suck. Bright at least tries to be serious.
