I'm watching "11.22.63", starring James Franco as a time-traveler who has to prevent the assassination of JFK. It's pretty interesting so far. It's mostly a 60s period piece, but it's top notch, exploiting some civil rights stuff at the time, but still being an interesting thriller.

Gotta love that Stephen King is still relevant. Theaters here have not only Dark Tower, but now "IT", which has had surprisingly high hype. I haven't even seen the trailer for IT, but it's sold out at my theater, and people are even going as far to leave red balloons near sewer openings. Pretty classy, if you ask me! But then again, what do I know? emoticon

STEPHEN KING rocks.

He has had one HELL of an impact on pop culture, hasn't he?!? It's hard to go for very long without referring to one of his creations, at least for me. Or at least thinking about his creations. You just named three of his creations that are part of everyone's consciousness, and there are so many more. People jokingly call yippy little dogs Cujo... Everyone in the @#$%^& world can recognize quotes from The Shining (at least the movie, which, I know, is different from the book)... everyone has seen Misery... I think a lot of people made comments about Greg Stillson when Obama was president, and nowadays people on the left do the same with Trump... it just goes on and on.

Everyone will think of re-animated corpses when they go to a pet cemeterysematary. Big dogs ARE Cujo. Castle Rock, Maine is a big deal now, even getting a tv show.

Just finished 11.22.63, by the way. Another solid entry the Stephen King catalogue!

There's also the TV show version of The Mist. Not watched, but the first season ended just last month. Gerald's Game is cumming to Netflix later this month and there's a fuck ton of other adaptations of his work in various stages of production according to his IMDb page. I feel like even when he passes away, his work will be relevant for a long time after. I'm sure plenty of his short stories haven't been touched yet and some of the adaptations are awful, so no doubt more remakes will pop up sooner or later.

The Mist TV series is horrible. No monsters, just infected people. Lame.

There is also the Mr Mercedes TV series that is getting good buzz.

Plus, he has a new book (written with his son Owen) coming out this Fall. It's set around a womens prison, titled Sleeping Beauties.
