Twin Peaks... What a phenomenon! HalloweenLove posted a great, realistic article about this:
https://halloweenlove.com/twin-peaks-2017-first-impressions-and-advice-for-new-fans/

It's such a hard series to describe. Especially since it starts from a 90s show, then continues 25+ years later, right on track with the typical David Lynch weirdness! It's an absolute cult following on every level, but it's soooo fucking heartwarming! I guess a lot of it has to do with how great of a character Kyle MacLachlan's character of "Special Agent Dale Cooper" is! *thumbs up*

It's strange, but even as a fan, I've only know this series for a few years. Yet, the long gap and return of every popular character makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I suppose it's because the actor's dedication and love for their characters, but a lot of it is sentimental too. Also, consider how we have good old Miguel Ferrer, who unfortunately passed away this year... but we still get to see him as Albert Rosenfield in this good old testament to great 90s television! Not to mention the Log Lady, who also recently passed. emoticon

Damn fine series! emoticon

The characters and their actors are definitely part of what I love. While I'm sure I'll start to love some of the newcomers as we see more episodes and their own stories start to unfold, it's all about the old gang for me right now. I'm just glad Lynch didn't wait any longer to film. Albert's my favorite of the non-Cooper FBI agents and Twin Peaks without the Log Lady wouldn't feel right at all.

Grrrrrr.... I need to find a way to watch this. Without forking money over to the Korporate Entities of Krap (not Lynch, mind you, he rocks).

Get yourself an android box. If it has the Kodi app on it, you'll not only be able to watch Twin Peaks, but every other movie and tv show you can think of.

OK, I've got Kodi on a firestick already... didn't know TP was on there since it's such a new show, though. Apox on my slow(ish) brain!

Yeah, they'll be on there a few minutes after they finish airing. Prepare to have your mind blown. And for some of the characters, I mean that quite literally! emoticon

huge releif it has got both ctitical & fan acclaim, could easily have gone wrong n sullied the TP legacy. having said that even it was crap i'd still watch, n prob enjoy. great news log lady is back, obv sad about her passing but had kinda assumed she was no lnger with us anyway.

now the tricky part, holding off until there's enough eps available for a good binge...

I did the 1st 4 eps as a binge and those 4 hrs flew by in what seemed like 2 hrs...it's not so much quirky like the original series but dark like the prequel Fire Walk With Me, mystery with a horror chaser. My only complaint is no Michael J. Anderson.

It's pretty much my favorite piece of fiction.

The first four episodes of The Return have been great, although they feel more like a new Lynch movie than they do a return to Twin Peaks.

Looking forward to seeing the new episodes but I am still struggling to get through the end of season 2. Loved the first season (seen it several times), and most of the first half of season 2 but after the killer is revelaed.. it just goes downhill fast and gets sillier and sillier as it goes on. The whole thing with James and his affair with Evelyn Marsh made me cringe. I understand it picks up a bit at the end with the David Lynch directed final episode.. but this is a pretty painful process.

I agree there are some slow eps but the payoff in the last 2 eps is worth getting through.

The Season 2 finale is beyond incredible. Just push through, you won't regret it and it's not like there's even that many episodes.

The Return has been nothing like the silliness of the latter part of Season 2 so far.

Thanks for the encouragement. I'm getting there.. 6 more episodes to go. Excitement levels are rising.. A pine weasel was causing havoc in the last episode.. emoticon
