What kind of video games are you into?

I don't game that much, so it's kind of a stupid question. I'm not really playing ANYthing right now. I'm more interested in the behind the scenes stuff lately. Me and @der are working in Unity3D to make some video games, and it's fascinating.

I used to play D&D games like Baldurs Gate. The pc version was a full RPG adventure with a lot of customization, so it was really fun. The console version was also bad-ass, because it was just a hack and slash game.

I also played about 400 hours worth of Left 4 Dead. L4D2 wasn't as good, but I played it plenty, and Portal 1 and 2 were great.

Typically, if I ever want to play a game, I turn to the NES and Genesis emulators. Sonic and Mario!

I'm looking forward to the Friday the 13th game, which comes out... this month!

I love the classics of NES, but I'm really into horror games. I love the Fatal Frame series. They are awesome to play around this time of year. Silent Hill is good. I was so disappointed at the cancellation of Silent Hills. The PT demo for it was awesome! I was so excited about a game by Guillermo del Toro, and having Norman Reedus in it. I've never really been into the Resident Evil games, but I've been checking those out a bit more.

OH! And I can never get enough Mortal Kombat!

I was a kid when MK was popular, so I played the first three a lot. The one I played mostly was MK3 Ultimate. I still suck at it though.

I played the L4D games a couple (hundred) times.

If I play anything now, it's usually Prison Architect. It's a simulator where you build a prison and hope it's not too easy to escape from. Has an escape mode too where you play as a prisoner and try to escape from your design or a downloaded design. I usually end up finding a lighter in an office or visitation and setting the prison on fire.

When it comes to emulators, I'm big on beat 'em ups. Streets of Rage on Genesis in particular. The TMNT games were pretty great too.

I still need to build a women's prison on there, even if it'll probably play out nothing like women in prison movies.

I've been messing with the PC version of Plague Inc lately. Bringing the world to an end through a variety of diseases is strangely satisfying. It gets a bit repetitive after a while and the graphics are very basic. It's just a map of the world with a few other screens for evolving your diseases and text describing the world's reactions. But for $15, I can't complain really. Free DLC too.

I almost downloaded Plague Inc, but wasn't sure about it. Wasn't sure what it's replay value would be.

In that case, I'd say hold off until it goes on sale for $10 or less. Everything on Steam seems to sooner or later. There's some replay value due to the variety of plagues in the main game and there's also a campaign mode. However it's definitely not on the level of other simulators like Prison Architect. I guess that can be expected from a game that started on phones.

Red Alert 2 is the best game ever made.

Despite being an horror fan, horror games rarely excite me. Maybe at a push I like the Dead Rising games. However I love games like Saints Row (all), GTA (all), Tomb Raider (new & old), Red Dead Redemption etc. I'm a fan of either shoot em ups, driving games or simulation type such as The Sims, Thrillville; I love building things up if I can.

Something of an all rounder :-)

I love me some Sims! I can't play them much though, I lose all track of time.

I like all kinds of video games. Shooting games. Racing games. Fighting games. Games for the phone, which, I suppose isn't a video game technically, but whatever. Been on the hunt for an NES classic lately after I left my old NES at my ex's house.

i mostly prefer atmospheric Horror and RPGs but i i'll play whatever is fun. the only game station i own is a Playstation 2. that was the heyday of Horror games imo.

favorites are Silent Hill 1-4, Fallout 1/2/New Vegas, Persona/MegaTen, CastleVania, Left 4 Dead. i don't keep up with the series but i get wicked nostalgia from the first Legend of Zelda. usually run through it a couple times a year.

the newest thing i've played is Destiny on my roommate's Xbox. it has poor worldbuilding and progression but the mechanics are pretty good.

Love me platformers, 3rd person actioners the most of all.

My favorite game of last year and now one of my all time favs is
youtube

Art direction, controls, atmosphere, pacing, intrigue, etc. etc. The game is a masterpiece (as was Limbo, this company's first game) and should especially appeal to many of the weirdos here.

Baldur's Gate is one of my favs. I'm currently playing Darkest Dungeon, which is a weird Lovecraftian dungeon crawler type of game to wrap your head around. I stopped playing for awhile because it's brutal and unrelenting, but I'm back into it now.

I'm into gaming and have been since 1982 when I got an Atari VCS. I like collecting games consoles and have a room with about a dozen on display.

I really love horror games and have just picked up Resident Evil 7. However, it is in a queue to be played behind; The Evil Within, Alien Isolation, Resident Evil Revelations 1 & 2, ZombieU and Dead Space.

At the moment I am really enjoying FIFA 17 and quite like sports games. I was thinking about picking up NBA 2K17 as it looks pretty good.

From what I've seen of Resident Evil 7, that game was fucked up!
