image I just watched Thunderbolt and Lightfoot for the first time, and it's a pretty damn good movie. Then again, is anything of his not good? He's pretty much the greatest man who ever lived.

Are you in love with Clint Eastwood?
Well... you should be.

Acting or directing, what are your favorite Clint Eastwood movies?

My Top 5:

Every Which Way But Loose (1978) https://trashepics.com/forum/534/ - You know, the one with the monkey, the inept cops, and the crappy biker gang? Clint tries his hand at comedy and it's pretty damn funny, because you know he'll always come out on top.

Escape From Alcatraz (1979) https://trashepics.com/forum/547/ - An extremely tense film that had me on the edge of my seat. People seem to love Shawshank Redemption, but this movie blows it out of the water.

Any Which Way You Can (1980) https://trashepics.com/forum/535/ - The sequel to the monkey movie, which is equally entertaining, with an epic fight scene finale. Right turn, Clyde!

High Plains Drifter (1973) https://trashepics.com/forum/564/ - A supernatural western that's borderline horror. Plus, Clint Eastwood rapes this chick, but she can't complain. Everybody wants to make it with Clint Eastwood!

Dirty Harry (1971) https://trashepics.com/forum/541/ - I couldn't figure out anything more iconic than this, which may be his definitive bad-ass performance. Don't get in his way, because he follows no rules. He'll fucking throw his badge in the river if it gets in the way of him taking out the bad guy.

What say you?

He's not really the type of actor, nor does he make/star in the type of movies I'd normally go for, but I dig the motherfucker. And can't recall ever seeing one of his movies and not liking it. The man's got my respect, for sure. Play Misty For me is my favorite. I haven't seen a whole lot of his movies but also liked Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, Breezy, Bronco Billy.

I have about 40 of his movies on dvd, though I've actually never seen 'Breezy'. I'll keep an eye out for it.

It's not a typical Eastwood-directed film. Kind of a sappy romantic drama with a hint of comedy. Not necessarily a bad thing in the 70's.

Not at all. I have a George Romero film "There's Always Vanilla" as a bonus film on my "Season of the Witch" dvd, and that's another romance movie from the early 70s that wasn't too bad either. However, I've only watched it once and I barely remember it. Same goes for this Scorsese flick "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore". I don't know why the directors chose to make these romance films given their usual preferred genres, but they end up being decent enough.

He is The Man. In a good way.

We have a family friend who reminds me of his character in Gran Torino. Think about what a compliment that is, that I even think that.
