Apparently, The Shining is a holocaust metaphor about how the moon landing was fake. It sure sounds like these people are overanalyzing the movie, picking apart every scene as if every atom in the frame is a deliberate work of art. Maybe this movie really is chock full of symbolism. Yeah, and maybe I'm a Chinese jet pilot.

Honestly, I watched Room 237 a couple of years ago and love it. Kubrick was eccentric af and a lot of theories make sense. It's actually funny cause I got The Shining in my DVD player right now as I type. I fell asleep last night in the middle. "They" did kill Kubrick for exposing too much in Eyes Wide Shut ya know!

I never knew you were a Chinese jet pilot...learn something every day.

you can find meaningfully data in any noise.
My favorite example are when Q from Qanon just for a joke munched his keyboard so you got egygfaiscdfaschfauhuidgsacdfascd or whatever
and people found the hidden meaning in it


People just want to beieve, it why all this UFO stuff has so much traction, even though all the 'evidence' has been embarassingly bad

Why do you think they included so much footage from Demons (1985)? I guess maybe because it is a movie about movies, in some ways....

Also, I wanted to mention that Room 237 makes me think of the documentary Collapse, just in the sense that it is quite a bizarre experience to watch it. In both films, Room 237 and Collapse, I mentally go back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, repeatedly, between thinking "hey, that's a really interesting idea" and thinking "OK, this person who is talking right now is just totally loony toons, and that's all there is to it."
