What?

What is Trash Epics, and why should I care? Trash Epics is a simple database-oriented web site used to host and promote b-movies, cult films, exploitation, and horror. Trash is a way of life, and it's your duty to express your trash through movies, music, tv, and video games by discussing it here.

Trash Epics is very much an experimental site, in which user feedback and input can help shape the site's foundation and ambitions.

Origins and Influence

In 1977, a sleazy masterpiece was written by the one and only George Buck Flower involving a killer swordsman terrorizing a drive-in, as two unintentionally dull detectives try to solve the mystery before the killer strikes again. The movie itself is incredibly mediocre, but the concept is amazing. Rather, the concept of the concept is good, being that anyone can make a movie, and it doesn't have to be good to make it into the public eye.

Movies like Drive-In Massacre, while inept at their craft, do serve a purpose, and that purpose is to inspire others. Watching a CGI Summer blockbuster isn't going to make you want to pick up a camera and shoot some raw footage to rival what you've just seen. Seeing a low-budget, poorly made piece of dog diarrhea... now those movies know how to make filmmaking look fun. The more complex something gets, the more distanced it becomes, and the audience can never truly appreciate the effort put into it. But smaller films tend to hang on for dear life, and you can remember them more because you can understand a movie better that was crafted by a small few who put their love, sweat, tears, and jizz into it.

Trash Epics aspires to be a tribute to the golden age of exploitation, horror, and grindhouse drive-in films from before our time that you don't see enough of in this day and age. The ambitions of Trash Epics are to homage to the sick, perverted, and campy horror films of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, made by people who love these films, for the people who love these films. Do we push boundaries? Not at all. Do we rip-off all the classics? Yes we do, because that's the American Dream.

About this Dump

Trash Epics was founded by Reverend @Renzo_Capetto, who felt the need to cash in on his trashy, two-bit dream projects in an attempt to fully realize the visions of his psychotic, drug-diminished, and occasionally homosexual brain.
