Still one of my favorite vampire movies.

Very unique and one of a kind for the genre.

Romero has stated that he believes character isn't truly a vampire, but the film itself leaves it open to the viewer's interpretation.

What do you think of the movie?

Do you have a point of view on whether Martin is a vampire?

There is a significant amount of the film that demystifies both faith and also vampire myths, so for me that leans heavily towards Martin just being a human killer.

Martin is one of my favorite vampire movies. I love it! I truly believe that Martin is one of horror's greatest character studies! It is not your traditional vampire flick in the sense that this one is about vampirism as a disease. Ultimately, he is just a guy trying to fit into society. Martin had such a profound effect on me. There is a lot of social commentary here and I just adore it.

In my top 10, for sure. I first saw it on youtube about a decade ago, and it really stuck with me. There's a lot going on in this movie (like with most Romero movies) and the characters are all well-developed. Romero was great at writing characters, and this is a total character study.

I'm fairly certain Martin is just a serial rapist/murderer, but it doesn't really matter. If you can make a character like this sympathetic, all bets are off.

Well the movie was good for what it is but the theme or like Gymno puts it more accurately character study didn't interest me that much. Even though it leaves open for debate whether he was a vampire or human, I do think he was human. The vampirism seemed to me more symbolic of a guy trying to fit in but ultimately failing at it.

youtube Another thing I like about this movie... the trailer. It features Martin, addressing us (the audience), and any bit of promo material is gold.

Notice how old trailers from this era would often repeat the title about three or so times throughout?

"Martin! Another kind of terror."

Just behind NOTLD as my second favourite Romero film but I bloody love this film! emoticon Though it's left to interpretation, like you guys I think it was just a fantasy in his head so that he could bring some meaning to his life, never necessarily thought he was a vampire myself but still... that ending even now gives me chills. Underrated little masterpiece (and that's a term I don't use lightly).
