I absolutely adore both movies, but Brain Damage has the edge.

Belial is a rude fuck, but Aylmer is a classy brain slug. I'd still probably kill both of them if I saw them though, or else they'd kill me.

Yeah, they're both psychos. At least Aylmer would give you some hallucinations along the way.

I can say without hesitation that both are better than Frankenhooker, but it's hard for me to choose between those two. If pressed, I would say Basket Case, but only because i've wayched it more.

Brain Damage is on my watchlist so can't answer the question now.
Basket Case was enjoyable.

As others have said, both are great. But I prefer Brain Damage which is a favorite of mine from any director.

I would give a slight edge to Basket Case, for the feels. A smidge harder to connect with a hallucinogenic drug addict than a guy who just wants to do the right thing by his brother. Both are 9/10's though.

Now that I have seen both I have to say Basket Case even though that's merely because Brain Damage felt too much like the makers were on some kind of LSD trip. Not getting overly wild by hallucinations with funky colors. Now if Aylmer would have given some hallucinations of some busty nude women for the viewer to see yeah.. but the only nudity is a quick glimpse on his gal's rack and a couple of nude male asses.
Give me Re-Animator and Dolls over both movies any day.
How long will it take before Bry comes out and calls me a perv again...

Thx sounds interesting. Ok it's Frankenstein with hookers but still director's name is Frank making Frankenhooker funny.

Basket Case has the heart. Brain Damage has the smarts...
Gotta go with Brain Damage myself. Aylmer is one of horror's finest villains and it has perhaps THE greatest kill ever put on film. One of my fave movies of any genre.
