Nope. Think the last record I ever bought was by speed metal band Death Mask. This was like 2005.

I purged myself of everything I ever used to collect and feel all the better for it (not feeling like I'm a slave to "stuff.")

Not a collector anymore but I have a pretty big collection at my parents house. Even got all my Dad's Beatles, Stones, you name it ones from back in the day which for some reason he decided to get rid of. Temporary insanity I think. He even had all these Elvis ones but I was younger so just grabbed the ones I liked. Should've taken everything he had looking back.

There used to be a shop in Glasgow called Missing that sold 2nd hand records, I bought loads from there. I was a sucker for coloured vinyl, picture discs and anything they had up on the top shelf where they kept obscure stuff if it was by a band I knew.

I have a few, mainly singles from 80s & 90s bands & a some dance 7 inches. Used to share a house with a mate who DJ'd at local bars n clubs & he 'adopted' most of my half decent electronica n hip hop records.

These days i pick up a handful from a charity shop every now n then, found a Sam Cooke collection awhile back for just 50p, which was nice.

I don't collect records because I already spend too much money collecting movies and I don't have the space for another collection. However, I do download rips of records. Records of libary music to be exact, from labels like De Wolfe. That's the main label Romero dipped into for Dawn of the Dead's non-Goblin music and the reason I'm interested in that kind of music now. Most of it's never had another release, so people buy the records and rip them for people like me who don't want to get into buying them.

Have you had a look on Rutracker? I got a bunch of John Carpenter music and the Creepshow soundtrack from there. I don't normally go for that kind of stuff but always liked the Fog music and Creepshow is my favourite horror. There's bound to be other film music there too.

Never heard of Rutracker, I'll have to check it out. I've got those soundtracks you mentioned, but I'm always on the look out for more. Pretty much all of Carpenter's soundtracks are worth having in your collection. I tend to use Soulseek for library music since a lot of the vinyl blogs I used to rely on have been either abandoned or erased. It's pretty good for music in general.
