For British & Irish horror fans, FrightFest, is an annual film festival taking place in London during the August Bank Holiday, so to celebrate FrightFest 2017, my local Horror Channel is dedicating thirteen nights to past festival favourites. Double bills are on Horror every night from August 18th - 30th starting from 9pm.

ADRIFT
AFTERDEATH
BAD MILO!
CHAINED
CHERRY TREE
COCKNEYS VS ZOMBIES
DEAD SNOW 2
DEATHGASM
FINAL GIRL
HANGMAN
HAUNTER
I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE (2010)
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEB
NO ONE LIVES
SHROOMS
STUNG
THE DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT
THE GREEN INFERNO
THE LAST EXORCISM
THE SAND
THE SIGNAL
TRIANGLE
TUCKER AND DALE VS EVIL
WAZ
WE ARE STILL HERE
XMOOR

Some I like, some I don't and some I haven't seen, but I will probably tune in regardless.

What do you think of the line-up? Any favorites? Good bad or indifferent?

Loved Deathgasm and The Signal. Hated Shrooms (one of the worst films I've seen to come out of Frightfest), found No One Lives mindless fun, and Triangle good but not the headfudge classic some have hailed it as.

Frightfest, along with all the other Horror themed festivals, is a ripe breeding ground for indy titles to look out for, have bought and (ahem) acquired many a movie thanks to them, both good and bad. Went to the Edinburgh one years back when it was called Dead By Dawn but affiliated and eventually becoming part of Frightfest. Was really good fun, Stuart Gordon & Neil Marshall were there, must be more i forget...

Anyway, is Horror Channel the one hosted by Emily Booth? She's great. I dont get it on my freeview, shame.

Really enjoyed - Deathgasm, No One Lives, Green Inferno, Last Exorcism, Signal, Triangle & Tucker n Dale

ok - Bad Milo, Chained, Dead Snow2, ISOYG, Shrooms, Stung, Dylatov, WaZ, We Are Still Here

disliked - Cockneys, Final Girl, Hangman

not seen the rest, but have copies of Deb, Haunter & The Sand, none of which i fancy so will save for a challenge

I was never at one of those Horror themed festivals. I would love too. The Irish Film Institute runs a Horrorthon in October. I might go.

Yes, Emily Booth is the host. I am surprised you don't receive it on your Freeview, Foz. It is a good channel, although they do show a lot of crap during the day.

I agree with you about Triangle, I really enjoyed it. Last Exorcism also.

Yes, I also found Bad Milo just ok.

I disliked both Final Girl & Haunter. I am just waiting for Johan to tell me how great they both are emoticon

haha, you n J are like an old married couple bickering but always endearing. in his DFENS JoJo loves Breslin as the titular Final Girl much more than the movie itself, which we all know is hipster balls.

you should def go to the IFI Horrorthon, should be some good all night screenning shenannigans.

My dear ol ma in deepest darkest North Wales has no broadband but gets the Horror Channel. Her prodigal son wot crossed the border gets no Booth but Look North instead...

I want to see I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE (2010). Do you feel it is better than the orginal? I am glad you liked WE ARE STILL HERE.

Yeah, it's one of the only remakes I prefer to the original. The original is not a bad film, but I don't think it lives up to the hype. And I kind of feel it would not have the same reputation if not for Ebert's scathing review. The remake is much more intense, and less campy.

We Are Still Here and Tucker & Dale are probably my favorites from the list. The Green Inferno I really enjoyed. I like Shrooms, fun weird movie. Stung is a fun big bug movie. Deathgasm also fun.

Seen:

Bad Milo
Haunter
I Spit on Your Grave
Stung
The Green Inferno
Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
We Are Still Here

So... not many. Seems like it's mostly if not entirely more recent movies. Not even heard of some. Favorite of what I've seen would be We Are Still Here or maybe Stung. Least favorite would be Haunter or The Green Inferno, but can't say I hated any of them. Guessing these will be shown uncut?

Stung looks like it could be good fun. Yeah, the festival started in 2000, and I think they only show movies released from each current year. I presume they are uncut, Ballz. emoticon

emoticon 'Fun' describes Stung perfectly. Good effects, plus Lance Henriksen in a decent size role.

Thanks, Ice. I must say THE DYATLOV PASS INCIDENT looks interesting. I have not even heard of HANGMAN before. I am not sure if that will be good.

I watched Devil's Pass/Dyatlov Pass Incident yesterday for a FTV and liked it a lot surprisingly cause I'm not a big FF guy. Most films on that list are at least watchable.

Seen all barring We are Still Here, Xmoor and Night of the Living Deb. Xmoor & We are Still are both lingering in my to watch pile and not sure how much I want to see Night of.

Some solid films in there though especially Tucker & Dale, The Signal (which I liked enough to get on DVD), Deathgasm, Dead Snow 2.

However I really didn't care for Final Girl despite Breslin and HATED Hangman which I found an exercise in tedium. So it's a decent list but there are some duds definitely in among the good.

I've only seen Shrooms, We Are Still Here and Xmoor. Shrooms was terrible. We Are Still Here and Xmoor were okay.
